AOL Buys Weblogs
Attention Bloggers: the good times may be over, already.
AOL is buying Weblogs, and the article above makes it pretty apparent what's going to happen during the change. Expect the level of advertising to increase on blogs.
I have no love for AOL, it seems that everthing they touch becomes a feature-bloated hunk o' junk (like ICQ did). And, they have a tendancy to nanny users to death! I wouldn't put it past AOL to "parental filter" the blogs under their control. Good luck, bloggers!
Update: you can calculate the value of your blog, based on the formula used by AOL. I'm worth $3,387.24 after only a month of blogging. Cool!
Thanks to Jib and Patrick for pointing this out!

WOW
Your Blog is worth exactly $3,387.24 more than mine.
What's your secret?
Never mind, What's Jib's Secret?
I tried to understand the statistics he uses. I'm not sure I get it. But, basically it's about networking.
I think it checks the content of your blog to see how much word of mouth you're generating. Are you linking others? Are they linking you?
It doesn't appear to be content based.
Number of comments?
It has something to do with Technorati tags, I don't use them myself, but I did register long ago. Poor Sean at The American Mind has been running TAM since Blogs were truly new, and his isn't worth anything LOL
