    Fall Colors!

I like Fall. There's so much about it: the smell of fireplaces, the chilly air that's somehow more breathable, and the colors. I can never seem to find a good place to view them.

The best place in town that I've found, so far, is Bay View. I drive through there on my way to work every day. The trees in the area are mostly maples and oaks, which turn bright yellow and red. I think the closeness of the lake has some effect on the area, too. All the trees seem to change together.

Humbolt Park is especially colorful right now! If you want to see it, get there this weekend. I don't think the leaves are going to hang on much longer.

We don't get many Fall colors 'round here.

Congratulations on more than 1,000 hits.

In Caifornia, doesn't the air change colors in the fall?

It's actually not that bad anymore.
When I was a kid, you could cut the air with a knife.
Ever since Detroit stopped selling cars, the air has gotten a lot better.
Traffic is a lot worse. All of those PZEV's still take up space on the freeway.
I drive 10 miles home from work.
It usually takes about 20 minutes to commute.
Every once in a while it takes 40 minutes!
    I'm taking tomorrow off.
Halloween is the worst traffic day of the year.
Everbody takes off early from work in order to get home to see the trick or treaters off. Plus the time change sends even more drivers onto the freeways in the early afternoon.
    It's a mess.
