    What's With the Color Change?

My regular visitors (Patrick, Addy, and Gbradley) may notice a difference around here.

Visitors responding to The Carnival of the Badger have been giving me some useful feedback regarding this blog.
Nick commented that my white on black text hurt his eyes. I never really noticed it, but I can see where he was coming from.

If you're a total geek, and you've tried to view this blog on a cell phone, the navigation has been improved. I put the sidebar content before the blog, so that you can jump around more quickly. This, of course, was done mostly for my benefit. I like to show off occasionally.

    Thanks for the tips!

Color combinations are really a personal thing. I now some people that like the dark backgrounds, some don't. And some combinations are hard for some people to read while others love it.

I learned this lesson on my message board that I run, when I started adding a choice of colored themes, I got a lot of positive feedback and even some special requests. I learned that a lot of people with mild vision problems can really be helped by a simple color change.

    Colors look fine to me.
Yes that Theme Switcher on Patricks Site is way cool.

Patrick is right... it is a very personal thing... after al.... your blog is a reflection of you.

For me as a reader though... it does really strain my eyes. Its so bad for me, that I will stop reading a blog all together very quickly that uses black background with white text.

    I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about. :)

I'm not about to let my blog be ruled by committee. But, I thought Nick was right. White on black could be hard on the eyes, especially if your monitor is a little bit fuzzy.

I'd like my opinions, not the color of my blog, to be the thing that people judge me on. :)

Hey Aaron, I asked for a few opinions on my message board at Web-Nuts.com, you might want to check it out over the next day or so, I'm sure you will get a variety of opinions on color combination.
(Webnuts is me on that board)
