Playing Catch Up (Blog Summit)
If you're a regular reader on my blog, I imagine that you come here to escape politics. So, you may not regularily visit the more politically oriented blogs on my side bar. You may have missed the bomb that exploded this weekend and sprayed cheddar beer soup all over the BBA.
In summary, WisPolitics is hosting a conference on blogging (3/18/06). The panel consists of an all-star line up. That, apparently, is the rub.
Many bloggers from both sides of the political spectrum weighed in on the make-up of the panel. As the insults flew, panelists Jessica McBride and Brian Fraley weighed in. Feathers were flying for most of the afternoon and evening. I even felt compelled to get involved, hoping to restore peace to the Cheddarsphere. Eventually, Wispolitics issued a follow up statement addressing the complaints. One thing that was proven this weekend is that many people take their blogging very seriously.
I declare this Blog Summit a success, even though it hasn't happened yet. It has activated the Wisconsin blogosphere and already created a buzz. Bloggers will be talking about it. There are going to be four types of bloggers after this event:
Update: Quote from Jessica McBride. I caught it while headline scanning, and there's plenty more there to read.

I declare this Blog Summit a success, even though it hasn't happened yet. It has activated the Wisconsin blogosphere and already created a buzz. Bloggers will be talking about it. There are going to be four types of bloggers after this event:
- Those who read about it afterward.
- Those who go and deliver honest commentary on what they witnessed.
- Those who go so that they can complain about it.
- Those who refuse to go and tell us from their high horse how stupid we are for caring.
Update: Quote from Jessica McBride. I caught it while headline scanning, and there's plenty more there to read.
- I'm done with it. I won't be attending this Blog Summit if other bloggers aren't added, but I see from Fraley's blog that they will likely be added, so maybe I will see you all there.

5 Amendments:
5. Blogger who goes for the comedy.
6. Blogger who gets too smashed to remember it.
Owen, the whole Cheddarsphere needs a stiff drink right now.
One down who knows how many to go.
Looks like I'm sitting squarely with number four.
