    Summit Summary

I don't have much to say about the actual summit, except that it was exactly as you'd expect. Although the presentation was entertaining, I wonder what people truly got from it. We've all been discussing most of the topics presented on our blogs. This was just another way to package that information. Sometimes you have to try different things to reach people, so I'm sure that there were some in attendance who were absorbing it differently than I did.

The best part of all of this was FINALLY getting to meet my favorite bloggers, and most of them were there. I managed to get around to almost everyone, but I still feel like I didn't get to chat with some of them enough.

I think the most notable moment for me (aside from the AWESOME Dennis York interview) was when Charlie Sykes and Jessica McBride arrived late and sat down two seats away from me. I joked with them later that it was like my parents just showed up and I was going to have to behave. Between speakers, I turned around to apologize to Charlie for all of my antics. Later on, he broke the news to me that I'm on his blogroll solely because of my blegging. That's good, I think, because if he'd said it was based on merit, we'd all be questioning Sykes' mental health.

I also had another one of those "people are seeing this stuff" moments. Several bloggers in attendance talked to me about the podcasts, including Fraley and Sykes. In fact, Brian Fraley plugged them during his time on the panel (Thanks, Brian!). Of course, Jenna and I want to see these podcasts take off. But, after seven weeks and a very rough start, I never thought we'd have an audience so soon.

I'm definitely glad that I went, because for me it was all about the networking. I don't want to blog in a bubble, and I'd like to know the community I'm blogging in.

It's interesting to me that there were so few liberal bloggers in attendance. Could it be that lefties are just so full of themselves that they don't think they need to go and hear what others might have to say?

Aaron. It was a pleasure to meet you. And I'd like to share with you that you ended up in my phone as "Baron."

    Damn predictive text.

Although I think it's the title you should now go by.

    Keep it that way.

I get lots of strange calls because I'm first in everyone's phone book.

I told you so. The conversations away from the speakers are the best part. And I thought the panels were pretty good. Face time with webloggers makes it more enjoyable.

Is it possible that the predominance of righies was more due to proximity to the WTMJ tower?

    Nice wrap-up Aaron.

    Grumps,

I like you, I really do. But, if the average liberal knows or cares where the WTMJ tower is, that may demonstrate my point.

What's wrong with listening to what other people may have to say. They did try to balance the panels. I thought Jay Bullock was pleasant enough in person. And Ed Garvey was funny, although I'm not sure he measnt to be.

Nice talking with you, Aaron. Now we just need to finalize our plan for world domination. I have some ideas already, so we should be able to progress in the anticipated timetable if you get the necessary tech support arranged.

Tee Bee, my mind control device failed to work on Charlie Sykes.

We're going to have to push back the target date by at least three weeks.

I know where the tower is because I used to deliver near there. My point was that the Milwaukee/Racine side of the Cheddarsphere is more heavily weighted to the right and the Madison side more to the left. It was a long way to drive on a day that was well suited to getting things done near the house.

BTW, Ed Garvey has that effect on lots of folks.

First of all, I said MOST.

Second, how long have I been trying to get you out in public?

    Don't give me this crap.

I will give you point #2...it's true and I have many emails supporting that.

But I reserve the right to give you crap whenever I want to.

In fact, perhaps I'll be sending you this sometime in the future.

I wonder if I can beat those emails when the stalking case finally makes it to court.
