Put Me In Coach!
I heard something astounding on the Charlie Sykes program today. The republican party has chosen not to run against Herb Kohl for senate.
Charlie went on to explain that they at least need to run someone, even if they are a sacrficial lamb, in order to force the democrats to spend money on the senate race. He suggested that the republican party needs to find someone with a huge ego and nothing to lose.
AHEM...
I'll take one for the team. I encourage any state republicans reading to seriously consider my offer to run. What else have you got? As a candidate with no hope of winning, I promise to do my best to make this race as miserable as I possibly can.

8 Amendments:
You don't need the "R"PW to sanction your campaign; you just need the requisite number of signatures turned into the State Elections Board by the close of business 7/11 and a few other things to appear on the ballot.
I do need the party, Steve.
This is really late in the game. I need them to throw a campaign at me: all the people to get those signatures, a campaign staff, and whatever funds they're willing to spend to drive Herb crazy.
I'm perfectly happy being a media whore. I need the party to do the rest!
you got my vote.
First they'll ask if you plan on being less-conservative than either Lorge or Mary, who also decided to announce. Second, you'll definitely need some campaign help; the federales built in a few incumbent protections which I outlined back at NRE.
My unsolicited advice?
Go ugly early.
Ugly is no problem.
I also plan to fight dirty.
You have a face for radio and ideas for office. File the papers, big boy!!
Fighting dirty is fun, BTW.
Sykes' reasoning here is idiotic. Having a candidate isn't going to force Dems. to put any money into the race because Kohl is loaded. How do you think he got to be a Senator in the first place?
Good luck anyway Aaron.
