The Race is On!

Fred, from Real Debate Wisconsin, has decided to challenge me in a virtual primary for the senate race. This could get ugly, people! Watch us go at it for the next week or so, and be sure to vote in the upcoming poll on the Badger Blog Alliance.

Let me first respond to the nasty allegations that I am too young to run for the senate seat. It is true that I'm too young to hold the office. But, it has been pointed out several times that the seat currently occupied by Herb Kohl is better left empty anyway.

There is precedent for someone who is not of age to be elected to the senate (see my post on the BBA.) This state may have closed that loophole, but there's still no reason that I can't run against Herb Kohl as a write-in candidate. Knowing that beating Herb Kohl in the general election is a near-impossibility, I'm not fearful in any way that the age requirement for senators is a concern. My campaign will be dedicated to softening Herb up for the next guy.
