Air Show Update
We just got back from the air show an hour ago. I hope to have some good video up later tonight.
In addition to the tips I gave yesterday, here are some other things to know:
1. Getting there: the sneakiest way is to get on 794 going north and exit right by the art museum. You can easily stay to the right. We couldn't find parking until all the way up the street by the lagoon.
2. Parking $15 at Veteran's Park. They only let you go north when you leave. Traffic stalls like mad on Lakeshore drive.
3. Food/Water. Bring lots of your own water! It's $2 per bottle. They're using a food ticket system ($10 per sheet, and they don't want to break them up unless you ask really nicely). There seemed to be a nice food selection. It sure smelled good. We decided that the line at Cousin's was nice and short.
4. Where to watch: most of the stunts are performed over the Summerfest lake front area. The sky divers land in a roped-off area in the park behind all the vendors. If you don't mind missing a few low-flying stunts, the area by the lagoon is shaded and not very crowded. We had a great view of the Thunderbirds from there.
5. Schedule: most of the morning was prop planes. They're followed by the sky jumpers. About 2pm (I think) the F16 came out and was joined later by the P51. The Thunderbird's finale began at about 3:45pm. 4pm would be a fun time to cruise the Hoan bridge, as long as you promise to drive SAFELY!
Go have fun!

3 Amendments:
My wife has been working as a volunteer at the concession stand at the airshow all weekend. They have beer and I think water. Hopefully more people are buying water than beer.
The second-sneakiest way in is to go up Prospect to Lafayette. Missed the shade and you though.
Dunno how I missed you; from the videos, you looked to be just a tick too far west.
Very fine video work, BTW.
