GPL Podcast News

I wanted to take a minute to report on the podcast.

First of all, we have a new listener! Welcome, Kate. You will perfectly fill the void left behind by anonymous 'TR,' who is no longer allowed to listen. We thank TR for stepping aside to make room for new listeners who may enjoy the program more than him/her.

Also, I'd like to point out that there are several individual podcasts that are approaching 300 (oops, 400) downloads. It's amazing to me, because I can't find any links to them on the internet that would explain the continued traffic and disproportionate demand. It has to be getting generated by word-of-mouth, which is just awesome!

In order to continue to grow the podcast, I'm working on some changes. There are some things I need help with, too. Read along, and contact me if you think you can help.

1. I've found a way to balance the guest volumes much better.
   
   I've already uploaded new and improved versions of old podcasts to the server. If you want to go back and download old programs, go to the GPL podcast feed blog. The title of each post is a hot link to the audio file.
   
   Sorry, if you've already subscribed in Itunes this is the only way I can think of to recopy the file. You'll need to save it over your existing copy.


2. I've also started using ID3 tags. We need artwork for the GPL Podcast and the GPL Femcast. I've enlisted Belle to take a stab at it, but she's pretty bogged down lately. If you'd like to give her a hand, contact her.


3. The podcasts could also use their own theme music. I'd like to have something attached to this program that is specifically our own. We need lyrics and music, they don't have to come from the same place.


4. Sean of The American Mind is going to try and help us out with show prep. He'll be helping to fill in the gaps I leave in our material and he'll be trying to manage the guest list. You can contact him directly to join us on the podcast.
