How to Spend a Floating Holiday
Here's a quick blog to let you know why you didn't hear from me today, and why blogging may be a little slow around here for a while.
I played hooky from work today to go out to Beloit and visit Tee Bee, her husband, and their bees. Kelly came along to get into the action, too. We spent the afternoon video taping her beekeeping and then lounged about in the pool. Since it was so hot today, it's really a toss up as to which part of the day was more enjoyable.

A good time was had by all, including Kelly, who was the truly brave adventurer. She was so determined to get these pictures that she got in close without a suit. Shortly after she got this close up, one of the bees took offense to her being there and she got stung on her eyelid! She's fine, though, and she's already laughing it off. We both told each other that we expected to get stung and she was really into those bees!

I hope to have the video for you soon. There's much work to be done on it, first. I've always been fascinated by beekeeping and watching bees. I've always wanted to get in and see a hive up close. Kelly and I want to say a big thank you to T. and L. for allowing us to come out and join them!

Nice pics, Kelly! I hope your eye is back to normal.
We really enjoyed your company and look forward to seeing the vlog post.
Very cool! I have an uncle that raises honey bees, also my father tinkers with a friend that does it too, it is a really interesting thing to watch them work.
Tee Bee, Kelly's eye swelled up overnight. She's still laughing, though.
TB, will you bring them along sometime to Drinking Right?
I'll see what I can do...
Poor Kelly! She should continue with the ice and antihistimene until the swelling goes down, though it might be down already now that it's Sunday.
Bees are fascinating.
Kelly's still swollen. She sleeps on that side and it seems to get puffier over night. Then, she spends the day icing it down.
But, she's still really glad she went along!
