Day at the Fair
It was a small gathering at the micro brew tent today, but a good time was had by all. T. and L. walked over to the fair with me, where we met Nick and Sean. By the second round, the Mundys and Kevin had arrived. A brief theology discussion may have threatened to turn ugly. Aside from that, the group enjoyed a number of oddly named beers. Poor Dean, he's such a nice guy. He barely got a word in all day!
While wandering the park, I spotted Nicole Devin. She seemed to be determined to get to the bunny tent or the Herb Kohl milk hut. Since she had that "don't mess with me" look on her face, which she's displayed every time I've met her, I didn't make a point of flagging her down. After she passed, I checked to see if anyone in the group wanted to take the chance. No one did.
When travelling in a pack, I've learned some guidelines to get by:
I found a new food item today: the duck fajita (AG pavillion, west end). Yummy! Also, we stopped by a booth that was selling breaded crawfish and beer battered artichoke. I think I'll be heading back to try that.
Special thanks to Tee Bee, who took us through a building that I don't remember visiting in all the years I've been to the fair: the agriculture building. It's nothing too fancy, it's just that I never knew it was there. And of course, we also stopped by the beekeepers to chat!

When travelling in a pack, I've learned some guidelines to get by:
- Have ideas, but never make demands: "I like this" not "we have to do this."
- Take advantage of openings: one pees, we all pee.
- Keep an eye on the quiet ones: occasionally ask the guy who's not saying anything what's on his mind.
- Don't be afraid to split up, but always have a way to communicate or regroup if necessary. Don't screw it up. Don't go on "one last ride" because you're not quite at the meeting time yet.
- Don't be afraid to be a jerk, as a last resort. Sometimes people need decisions to be made for them.

1 Amendments:
You've never had breaded crawfish? Aka fried mudbugs? :) Good eatin' and a staple of the deep south.
Sounds like y'all had a pretty good time. :)
