Staging them would be easy enough, you just need a private server with everyone probably being in voice chat (someone has to be the director). To get the video, they probably used a program like Snagit
The voice overs can be done with even a simple tool like Windows Movie Maker or most other video editing software.
As a BF2 player, I think this video was really awesome!
Although, with a simple PC-TV card (many computers are coming with one now), you can probably record onto DVD or digital video tape with fewer frame drops.
Back in the day, I used to hook my Nintendo up to the VCR and dub in music... I'll do some digging around to see if my Rube Goldberg project video is on any of these machines.
