Frankenfood
Not that I have anything against genetically engineered food, but I think someone needs a hobby. Even if you develop the perfect pumpkin/jack-o-lantern, no one will buy it if it's not priced competitively.
Monsanto has thousands of breeding lines of pumpkin stock, Johnson said. Most the work is done in California and Florida greenhouses using traditional breeding techniques of mating the best plants with one another over generations.I really want that job! I'll engineer a candle-free model that glows in the dark.
Monsanto's critics call genetically engineered crops Frankenfoods. In spite of the natural appeal such a label might have for Halloween sales, Johnson said there aren't any plans to splice pumpkin genes.

3 Amendments:
You think that's strange? People breed pumpkins specifically for "pumpkin chunkin" contests. They're usually white so they're easy to see, and extremely hard so they don't turn into "pie" when they get shot out of a huge compressed air cannon.
You're too late Aaron. In England they alreay have gene-spliced sheep that glow in the dark. Pumpkins can't be that far behind---if there's a market for them. ;-)
I want to know how your battle with the car dealer turned out.
