Nearing Critical Mass (But Still Not a Crisis)
March 23rd, 2007-5:57 pm by sub2changeAfter the hijackings on 9-11, a handful of copycats attempted to duplicate the terrorists’ efforts and failed. People like the infamous shoe bomber and the gentlemen who hijacked United 93 found themselves in a tight spot because people on those planes understood the rules of engagement had changed. The passengers confronted the hijackers, knowing that the worst case scenario was imminent. In their situation, anything the passengers did could only serve to improve the outcome.
In light of the daylight shooting on the north side, I think it’s safe to say that the rules of engagement have changed in Milwaukee. If you are approached in a hostile manner by a young (teen to twenties) black male in certain parts of town you have just cause to be concerned. If that individual is armed, you’re probably best off assuming that your clock is punched. You may wish to think twice about simply handing over the keys or your wallet and hoping for the best. If you have a moment to think of a Plan B, it might be a better choice.
If the thought depresses you, dear citizen, take comfort in this: there’s still no crisis in Milwaukee.

The irony is the man who was shot was a boxing coach in Waukesha who worked with several “at-risk” teens. They were pretty upset with the news.
I believe they have the “Golden Gloves” competition in a couple weeks.
