Elliot had a great comment on his blog:
I linked here from some other good blogs and, seriously, what’s your deal? You confuse banality with creativity and your demure Reader’s Digest-esque quips make you sound like a dull-witted hausfrau. Write something interesting or shut this shit off.
Come on, people, tell me how much I suck. I’m begging you!

I’m late in offering my condolences to Tom McMahon. He’s had far too much heartache recently.
Now, another blogger and Drinking Right regular is in rough shape. I hope we’ll see him soon.
Thankfully, Pete Fanning is doing well after his car accident.
For my readers and fellow bloggers who have shared private moments, this blog wishes all of you the best.

I had the honor of video taping this wedding yesterday. The next time you see the happy couple, be sure to ask them about the big day. A good time was had by all, with only a few minor mishaps. The bride was lovely, of course. And, the groom is damn lucky!
Congratulations, guys. You can have your camera back at Drinking Right on Tuesday.

In case you didn’t know, Nicole Devin will be filling in on The Mix next week.
The one time I heard her go solo on The Early Spin I thought she handled herself quite well. I’ll be tuning in to see how she does on the FM dial.
Good luck, Nicole!

Saturday is the day. I plan to be at the microbrew tent at about noon.
We’d still like to have the BBQ, but we don’t know how many people to expect. My plan is to go to the fair and find out who’s coming, then we’ll meet at our place later on. I think 4 or 5pm is a reasonable time.

I’ve posted the official/unofficial BBA gathering info. Shall we say it’s Subject to Change?
I especially enjoyed being able to somewhat legitimately use the “cow farting” tag.

Thanks a lot, Dean.
Eight Random Facts About Myself
Numbered in octal, because nobody else has done it yet.
1. I own every episode of Red Dwarf. Seasons 1 through 4 on DVD. I actually watch them.
2. I actually enjoy my job, very much. I can’t say I’ve ever had one I hated.
3. I was second in line to be Dennis York. Christian drew the short straw.
4. I once took the time to learn the alphabet backwards. I remember where I was when I did it, and it stuck with me so firmly that I can do it while very drunk.
5. I’ve never been required to recite the alphabet backwards while drunk, or sober for that matter.
6. I have a massive collection of Shadowrun RPG manuals. I see that I’m a bit out of touch, because they’re on release 4 now. There also appears to be a computer game in the works.
7. I’ve been arrested once, by campus police at UWM. They finger printed me and took my mug shot. Then, they had to let me go because my story checked out.
10. I was laid off on September 11, 2002. A year and a few weeks later, I was laid off again. Both times I took a friend of mine out to Outback Steakhouse to celebrate.
11. Update - Since #3 is an obvious exaggeration, I thought of this: I type with one hand, and only use three fingers at most. I can type at a fairly good pace this way, too. I need to look at the keyboard.
The following suckas are tagged: Charlie Sykes, Jeff Wagner, James T. Harris, Dan Deibert, Nicole Devin, Keith Conrad, Mark Belling.

I assume that the BBA is going to try and arrange a group outting to the fair again this year. We’ve always had fun meeting each other for a couple of beers.
I wanted to let my readers know that we live really close to the fair and walk over there almost every night. If any of my readers want to meet at the fair or save on parking, they’re welcome to call or email.
Kelly and I would also like to host an after party for the BBA gathering. Assuming that the weather is nice and everyone’s not too tuckered out, we’d like to host an evening cookout. Let me know if you’re interested in coming or helping out. We can easily handle a spur of the moment gathering, with a handful of people. We will need some extra grills and chefs if there are enough families coming.

Sorry I missed Drinking Right. I think Nick and I are tied now. At least I’ve got the founder’s attendance record beat.
I’m also missing the blog summit. I don’t think I’d have made it anyway, but there are more than enough reasons now.
Cole hasn’t been himself since Saturday, and since Sunday he’s been uncontrollably fussy. He even stopped eating. But, he wasn’t running a fever and had no other symptoms, so we couldn’t take him to the doctor. Finally, he ran the magic 100.4 fever last night and we had a reason to take him in.
The poor guy has an ear infection. As soon as they numbed his ear, he smiled for the first time in three days. We thought we had this licked, but today was the worst yet. Kelly said that he cried all day and wouldn’t touch his bottle. She force-fed him Pedialyte because his diapers were dry. By three O’clock he seemed to improve.
He’s happy now, but we’re on our way back to Urgent Care. It looks like he’s happy because his eardrum ruptured and the pus is coming out. I know from experience that a ruptured eardrum isn’t necessarily such a big deal. It’s happened to me twice. We just need to get him checked and cleaned out, so that it will heal correctly.
But wait, there’s more! This next part should not be taken the wrong way by my boss, who reads this blog. I’m not upset about this next bit, except for the part that we have been trying to correct for the past several years. That part’s beyond our control, and I now have a reason to take it personally.
I’m on my way to El Paso in the morning. I’ll be there until next Friday.
This is an opportunity that I would ordinarily welcome, even though the work is going to suck. I love a challenge, and in my single days I loved to travel. I haven’t really gotten over it. I miss exploring new places.
Any other time, this would be fine with me. If I weren’t spending my first Father’s Day away from my sick son, I’d have welcomed the break. That’s the part I’m going to hold against the company that’s earned a special place in my heart.
Wish me luck, and check in on Kelly. OK?

Tim Rock opened his home to both sides of the Cheddarsphere over the weekend. We all had a great time, except for maybe Mike Mathias, who found out that his kid runs faster than him.
Check out Tim’s place for pictures of the event.
FYI: Cole was sleeping in Quin’s bed when the group photo was taken.
