Another blogger is sticking his neck out to report a potentially breaking, yet unconfirmed, story. An old friend may have returned to Milwaukee.
As someone who is currently housing a cancer patient, I’ve got to say this struck a nerve. If the report is right, information that is critical to me is being withheld. If it’s wrong, then I’m sharing this so others in my situation may decide for themselves.

I took some photos on my way past the salt piles on Jones Island this morning. There isn’t anything left. Once the local stores are used up Winter needs to end, or we’re in for it.
Here are a few photos of where salt used to be. Normally the piles are as large as a good-sized office building.

Here’s one small pile on the right, next to the road.

This pile is what’s left of the Jones Island salt supply.

I’m afraid we’re all going to get really good at driving on ice and slush really soon!

I spotted what should be the final pieces of an Iowa windmill farm on the Port of Milwaukee today. I snapped a photo this time, because these windmills have made headlines once before, when they stopped traffic in Menomonee Falls (H/T Headless Blogger).

Tonight, the convoy of windmill blades is headed west. They’re travelling very slowly along I-894 to I-94, from there I can’t say what route they’re taking. But, they’ll be getting nowhere fast and traffic is already backed up for miles.
It’s been interesting watching these giant hunks of metal come in to the port over the past few months. One or two of them have nearly run me over on my way to work.

Was the 440th closed, or not?
Did you have to think about it, too?

The hidden camera video of courthouse employees sleeping could really use a soundtrack.
You know something? This story could’ve easily been broken on a blog! With all the high tech gear and initiative of the Cheddarsphere, there’s no reason we can’t be the watchdogs.
