To be fair, it's Congress' responsibility to raise or not raise the debt ceiling, not Obama's.

If Congress doesn't raise the ceiling, the consequences WILL BE DIRE.

McConnell's plan of allowing the President to raise the ceiling as long as he identifies spending cuts his a horrible one. First, that seeds more executive power to the White House. Congress can not simply decide it doesn't want to do something it's supposed to.

Secondly, if Obama does "identify" cuts... so what? Congress could do nothing with those cuts, or Obama could not do anything with those cuts. Who enforces that?

Well, well, well...look who's back.

I'd be curious to know if some even dictated the parking restriction. Even so, I've seen plenty of instances where parking is restricted for a specific event but the signs for the restriction are up far longer than they need to be. In such a case, it's hard not to think of it as revenue generation, pure and simple.

The thing is, I know a lot of folks who avoid downtown like the plague because they think parking is so horrible (it's no Chicago, but from their perspective, it's pretty bad). When they finally decide to come into downtown to lay out some cash and see seemingly pointless parking restrictions, it makes them think twice about doing it again.

Kinda like cutting off your nose to spite your face, if you ask me.
